Tottenham Hotspur have player an unfair match when they were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham on Wednesday night.
Things could have gone smoother for the London side if they have been awarded a penalty right from the 11th minute.
Spurs were awarded a first-half penalty when Harry Kane’s header appeared to hit Aaron Cresswell’s arm, but referee Peter Bankes overturned the decision after VAR Stuart Atwell advised him to check the pitch-side monitor.
A Thilo Kehrer own goal gave Spurs the lead, but Tomas Soucek’s equaliser stopped them after the break, leaving Conte frustrated and stating that referee Bankes haals been “embarrassed” by his VAR.
Following the decision to overturn Tottenham’s penalty against West Ham, Antonio Conte launched into a talk against the use of VAR and demanded that it be removed.
Speaking at his press conference after the match, the Italian manager said it is easier to accept a refereeing error than one from VAR.
“I think in England it is better to cut off VAR for the crowd but also for us. For me, for my players, for every coach, every player at all the clubs, you accept the referee decision positive or negative because these are human mistakes.” Conte said.
“It’s difficult also to explain because you know very well that I don’t like to comment on refereeing decisions.” Conte added.
The results leave Spurs unbeaten in five games, but they have not found the best gear ahead of Saturday’s visit to Fulham.
“We started the season very well, we are undefeated and we played five games and three away from home” Conte said.
“In a difficult place like West Ham, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest, we are doing well and trying to improve.
“Now we have another game to prepare in two days against Fulham and then we think about the Champions League.” he added.
