Cristiano Ronaldo scored three goals in Al Nassr’s 3-0 win over Damac on Saturday, keeping Al Nassr topped the Saudi football league.
The Portuguese international forward scored all of Al Nassr’s goals in the 18th round of the championship, just two weeks after scoring four goals in the visit to Al-Wehda (4-0).
Ronaldo’s first goal came in the 18th minute, after the referee pointed a penalty for a hand touch by Damac’s defender.
He went to the penalty spot and put the ball in the back of the net, with a strong shot in the right corner of the goalkeeper, who fell to the right.
Ronaldo’s second goal came five minutes later. Al Nassr went down on the counterattack, and Ronaldo was called in at the entrance to the area, with a pass from Al Ghannam.
Ronaldo dominated between three positions, hitting with his left foot in the archer’s corner and stuffing the nets.
Still in the first half, the star reached the hat-trick, after another counterattack from the visitors.
Ronaldo started from the defense field and followed the shot. Yahya was launched into the area and played for the star, who hit the back of the goal calmly.
“I’m very happy, but the most important thing is the team. We did a great job, they ran and fought a lot. The goals are important, but the team’s work is more.” Ronaldo said.
“I feel more adapted with the whole team. It’s not easy arrive and, with only five, six games played, they know my moves. But I’m starting to understand their positioning better and they understand mine.
“For me, the most important thing is to go step by step to reach the highest level.” the former Manchester United striker added.
Ronaldo has already scored eight goals in the competition, being surpassed in the list of top scorers by the Brazilian and his teammate Talisca, who has 13, Carlos Junior (Al Shabab), who has 12, and Moroccan Abderrazak Hamdallah (Al Ittihad), who scored 11.
With this win, Al Nasr reached the top of the Saudi Pro League table, adding 43 points, two more than Al Ittihad, who tied with Al Raed in the fifth.
Now, the three teams at the top of the table have the same amount of games – Al Hilal has three games less, adding 32 points, in fourth place.
