The Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant will not play in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game due to a knee injury. Hebwill miss the All-Star Game for the second time this year.
Durant was injured during a victory in Miami on Jan. 8, when the Heat’s Jimmy Butler fell backward into Durant’s knee. An MRI exam revealed an isolated sprain in his medial collateral ligament.
Nets coach Jacque Vaughn told the New York Post that James “good diagnoses from doctors”. The player is already training on the court, but still with little effort and without contact.
Even before Adrian Wojnarowski released the latest update on the athlete, Vaughn already hinted that Kevin Durant would not be available for the All- Star Game.
Other rumors in recent weeks said the star was hopeful of returning to court before the celebration. But the Nets are probably being cautious about the health of their main star, even more so with the departure of Kyrie Irving.
However, to being 34 years old, Durant has consistently missed games due to injuries over the last three seasons.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver controls substitutions in the All-Star Game. The chosen one, however, must be from the same conference as the athlete who will be unable to compete.
But in the case of Durant, who was chosen in the starting line-up by the fans’ vote, who will choose his replacement is the team’s coach, Joe Mazzula.
As a result, Mazzula is likely to go with the player who wins the most votes after Jayson Tatum and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Meanwhile Joel Embiid could be a starter. After all, he has slightly more than 4.9 million votes.
The Western Conference will also have an embezzlement in the event holders. Stephen Curry will be out of the game due to a leg injury he suffered on the last day 4.
The probable replacement for the number 30 is the star of the Memphis Grizzlies, Ja Morant. He is expected to partner with Luka Doncic in setting up Team LeBron.
