The Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry has said his plans to retire from NBA during an interview.
The Warriors made a deal for Jimmy Butler in hopes that the team could present one final title opportunity to their star player Curry.
“Of course you think about it more and more. I’m not at the end yet if that’s what you want to know, I still have some things in the tank.” Curry said.
“But I think more about the end because it’s part of time and cycles. I don’t think fighting against human nature or fighting against the inevitable is the right way to approach it, you know?
“There’s a fear in all of this, which in the end is just normal. So I’m enjoying everything that’s still happening,” Curry added.
According to his current agreement with the team Curry will continue playing for two additional seasons through 2024/25 to 2027.
The beginning of this season saw Curry extend his contract for one additional year which will result in his receiving more than US$60 million between 2026/27 and beyond.
It appears that 2026/27 represents an important date. All three elements create significance for this exciting period in the franchise’s history.
Curry campaign finishes at the same time as Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler option years and Steve Kerr’s contract term.
As the point guard navigates through both social gatherings and basketball finals this Sunday he stands as the chief attraction during the entire celebratory weekend for the city.
His understanding of the Golden State Warriors anniversary festivities shows that the star wants to shift the celebration focus toward the basketball greatness of his team without neglecting their past accomplishments.
But Curry has planed to remain in NBA competition even though retirement thoughts were in his mind.
