Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-Min has discussed an useful perspective on this season’s unique calendar, expressing that Premier League players are “living the dream” and should enjoy the nonstop schedule.
The English Premier League clubs have to compete constantly in different stages as the season moves into its quick phase.
The calendar is even more tight because the World Cup must take place in the middle of the European season this year.
The Premier League clubs football teams were also delayed due to not playing during the state mourning period for Queen Elizabeth II.
“It is hard to be honest, travelling and being away from home, it’s not easy. But we’re born to do this and everyone dreams about it so we don’t have time to complain.” Son said.
Tottenham would play 10 matches in four and a half weeks starting with the Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt on October 12th.
The Korean striker admitted that modern football is more demanding, but that does not mean that players have to complaint.
“When you think about, when you were a kid what was your dream? Probably everyone is going to say playing in the Premier League.” Son said.
“So we’re living the dream and we can never forget these moments. I know there are tired moments and it’s mentally and physically really, really difficult.
“But we were born to do this, we love to do this and we should enjoy it. And obviously the more you enjoy it, the more happiness will be here. I know it’s tough moments but we should bring more happiness and it will be more enjoyable.” he added.
Tottenham took pleasure again with a 1-0 win over Brighton over the weekend, following their London derby defeat to Arsenal. That provides as a warm-up for their two Champions League home games against Frankfurt and Sporting Lisbon.
