Yesterday evening in Singapore, second-season trainer Young Keah Yong saddled his first-ever treble at Kranji. Over here at Sungei Besi today, trainer Siva Kumar a/l D.Subramaniam (S Siva), who obtained his licence in mid August and landed his first win two months ago, emulated the feat with wins in three consecutive races. Siva started the ball rolling by sending out CONDADO to victory in the Class 3 – 1200 sprint. The New Zealand gelding, a winner of four races, was starting for the fifth time for Siva.
Siva followed up that success with KUTTNER, who picked up his fourth win in 32 starts but racing for the third time for the trainer. 10-year-old MR EPIC was placed in three of four runs under Siva before scoring a comeback win after 2 1/2 years to make it a memorable afternoon for the trainer. It was the eighth win in 83 starts for the New Zealand gelding.
