The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) is anticipated to take place on November 29 up to December 1, 2024, and Standard Chartered (the Bank) renews it’s support for Singapore’s premier running event.
The SCSM is not only a race but a colourful event of fitness, togetherness and the strength to complete the marathon.
This event which is held every year encourages all type of runners to come for the weekend full of fun and support in the backdrop of the marvellous skyline of Singapore.
Since its beginning in 1992, the SCSM has expanded dramatically into one of the largest marathons in the Asia-Pacific region.
In the past decade it has welcomed international elite athletes, local joggers and the occasional families that sought a healthier lifestyle.
The marathon is also approved of the IAAF as a Gold Label event, which means that it is one of the best organised and comprising the best participants.
Race Categories
The SCSM aims at providing for all it participants, and provides for the different race classes to fit the marathoners and beginners.
The event will feature:
– 42.195 km Marathon: The traditional distance which encourages the runners to strive harder and reach their inner potential.
– 21.1 km Half Marathon: Ideal for those who are willing to some level of competitive race but still cover a shorter distance.
– 10 km: Preferred by amateur joggers and athletes who train in order to increase their pace.
– 5 km Fun Run: This is a casual, non-race run designed for families and first-timers.This means that regardless of your age, you can join the fun and get to enjoy the holiday spirit.
In the aesthetic course that is to be laid down, runners will be able to pass several significant sites such as Marina Bay Sands, Esplanade, and Singapore Flyer.
The route is not only visually appealing, but there will be proper water and support points along the route, so everyone will be comfortable throughout the race.
