Roulette Series Explained

Since it is impossible in roulette to influence the ball with your skill in the game, people have focused on betting the best and beating the casino.

With roulette you have a lot of freedom of betting. You can bet one or more chips on a number or a combination of numbers. In addition, you can also go for all red numbers or all black numbers.

There are a number of combinations of numbers that people like to bet on in roulette, also known as series. With these series you cover a certain part of the wheel and you know exactly what your chance of winning is.

Why series?

Why are the roulette series so popular? With roulette you can of course take as much risk as you want. If you bet on 1 of the 36 numbers, your chance of winning is quite small, namely 1 in 36. Precisely because the chance of winning is relatively small, the payout is extra large if you do win.

On the other hand, of course, you will probably lose more than you will win. Series are popular because they provide a certain balance between the chance of winning and losing.

Your chance of winning is higher than if you bet on a single number, but your bet will be paid out fewer times. All in all, the series are therefore quite safe to bet on.

The Small Series

The name says it all, the small series covers a relatively small part of the numbers on the wheel. If you look at the wheel with the green zero at the top, the small series is at the bottom of the circle. You then bet on the numbers: 0-2-3-4-7-12-15-18-19-21-22-25-26-28-29-32-35.

The small series contains 6 combinations of numbers, so you bet 6 chips to cover the small series. If you win, you will be paid out 18 chips.

The Big Series

If there is a small series, there is of course also a large series. This series covers the numbers around the green zero. It’s called the big run because you’re betting almost on half the wheel.

With the big series you bet on the numbers: 0-2-3-4-7-12-15-18-19-21-22-25-26-28-29-32-35. You need 9 chips to bet on the 17 numbers in this big series.

You therefore have almost a 50/50 chance of winning. Of course, with this greater chance of winning, the payout in case of a win is less than with the small series.
