The sexual video case involving a minor along with its distribution continues to investigate Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio who remains an accused party.
September 2023 brought the first news about this case from the Spanish newspaper which detailed the Las Palmas Civil Guard was actively investigating the matter.
The case involved several Madrid soccer players who faced arrest charges related to exposing sexual secrets according to reports.
El Confidencial revealed Real Madrid’s reserve team members originated from the famous ‘La Fabrica’ academy during a period of unidentified identity disclosure.
The investigation revealed that Asencio joined the group videotaping two women including a minor who filed accusations against Ferran Ruiz, Juan Rodriguez and Andres Garcia.
However, Rui, Rodriguez, and Garcia, were arrested in September 2023, with Asencio called to give testimony as a witness.
A statement from Real Madrid at the time read: “Real Madrid wishes to announce that it has learned that a Castilla player and three Real Madrid C players have made statements to the Civil Guard in relation to a complaint about the alleged broadcasting of a private video via WhatsApp.
“When the club has detailed knowledge of the facts, we will take the appropriate measures.” Madrid added.
On the other hand, the Spanish court determined that one of the suspects acknowledged Asencio had shared the video by showing it to him while WhatsApp recorded the reception of the video through mobile networks.
A statement from the High Court of Justice of Gran Canaria in November read: “The judge is investigating four footballers linked to Real Madrid as alleged perpetrators of crimes of disclosure of secrets and dissemination of pornography.”
Professing responsibility for child pornography offences in Spain can lead to maximum prison imprisonment of five years.
