The Philadelphia 76ers can sign more players. Tobias Harris is one of the players whose name is frequently considered in connection with a deal involving the 76ers.
According to the Athletic’s Shams Charania, from The Athletic, Harris is constantly brought up in conversations about changing the 76ers’ direction with other franchises.
“Sixers officials began vetting teams across the league before Dec. 15 that players who signed offseason contracts be traded, and that’s when trade talks begin to intensify.” Charania said.
“Tobias Harris then appeared in franchise conversations with other teams.” Charania added.
It’s worth remembering that this isn’t the first time Tobias Harris has appeared in 76ers trade talks.
During the offseason, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported that the 30-year-old was one of the most talked about names in the business.
In addition, the departure of the number 12 would leave a good salary space for the franchise.
“We are hearing a lot about Tobias Harris in the commercial market. So even after Philly tries to address some gaps in the free agency that this new Harden deal opens up, it wouldn’t surprise me if they look to make more moves.” Windhorst said.
“It would be logical, thinking about building more around Harden and Embiid,” Windhorst added.
According to Ky Carlin from USA Today, they said of a possible Harris departure as a bad thing for the Pennsylvania franchise. In an article, the newspaper believes that Philadelphia would not find a part that would replace it at the height.
“The Sixers will not find a better player in his current role than Harris. No one on this team sacrificed as much as he did to do all this work and he did it without complaint and focused on improving the team.” Carlin said.
“Some things cannot be measured statistically. They trust Harris to be a voice from the locker room,” wrote journalist Ky Carlin.
The Philadelphia 76ers have eight wins through their first 16 games, which puts them far from where they wanted to be before the season started.
