Norman Powell Snubbed, A Shocking Omission from NBA Award Finalists

Norman Powell, has been left off the list of three finalists voted by the league for the prestigious NBA award. This unexpected omission has left fans and analysts scratching their heads.

The Los Angeles Clippers player found himself ousted from the position as an official candidate by none other than Malik Monk, Naz Reid, and Bobby Portis.

Determined not to let this perceived injustice go unnoticed, he made a bold choice to break his silence and speak out against what he believed to be a grave wrongdoing.

“I think it’s bullshit, to be honest. I don’t know what else I need to do, after two years in a row of not being among the finalists.” Powell said.

“I already led the league in points off the bench, for example. I saw that I was one of the most efficient reserves in the league this season. And that with fewer possessions than I could have, as I play with four players who will be in the Hall of Fame.” Powell added.

Despite experiencing a decrease in his points average compared to the previous season, Powell’s efficiency actually improved.

He consistently scored an average of 13.9 points per game while impressively converting 43.5% of his long-range shots and committing only 0.9 attacking errors per game.

Notably, Powell emerged as the fourth best three-point shooter among all players who attempted 200 or more shots this season.

“Not being recognised sucks, certainly. I think it has to do with popularity, politics. With people who don’t watch the games, but only the best moments on social media.” Powell said.

“I’m not that exhibited there, so I go after it. It’s hard for me, but I don’t let it get me down. After all, I’m more focused on winning a title with my teammates.” he added.

In recent months, the shooting guard made it clear that he wanted to win the trophy.

In March, for example, he gave an interview to the LA Times newspaper in which he spoke about the importance of possible recognition.

It would have been, in short, the crowning achievement of his career.

“I feel like I’ve always been an underdog throughout my career. So, winning the award would be incredible because it would have a huge meaning for me. It would be a recognition of my importance to the team.”

“And my work over the years, moreover, to help my teams win games. It’s an achievement that would say a lot about the sacrifices I’ve made so far.” he added
