Sir Bobby Charlton, one of the greatest footballers of all time, has died at the age of 86 on Saturday.
Charlton was a key member of the Manchester United team that won the European Cup in 1968, and he also played a starring role in England’s World Cup victory in 1966.
He scored 249 goals in 758 appearances for Manchester United, and he is the club’s all-time leading scorer. He also won three league titles and one FA Cup with the club.
Charlton was capped 106 times by England, and he scored 49 goals for his country. He is England’s second all-time leading scorer, behind Wayne Rooney.
Charlton was knighted in 1974 for his services to football. He was also inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2002.
