Vietnam to face Indonesia on Monday in the second leg of the AFF Cup semi-final at My Dinh Stadium, in Hanoi.
Indonesia midfielder Jordi Amat found that My Dinh ground was not as bad as he thought after training session on the evening of Sunday.
The Indonesian national team only practiced one session at My Dinh Stadium to familiarise themselves with the field and prepare for the match.
However, Indonesian coach Shin Tae-yong carefully checked the ground, before starting the training session.
“My Dinh ground has no problem, I thought it must be worse. We can train normally here.” Jordi said.
My Dinh is criticised by many fans because the grass is less green and the sand is a bit quick.
Australian media once said that the yard was like a lawn for cows to graze, when they were guests here in the World Cup qualifiers at the end of January 2022.
The surface of My Dinh ground was flat, although the grass was still less green because of lack of sunshine before the second leg of semi-final.
Many fans were also mobilised to clean the seats in the stands, avoiding dust and dirt like previous matches.
The naturalised midfielder Marc Klok said that the surface of My Dinh ground was worse than the last time he played here.
He admitted the match when Indonesia won against Malaysia at My Dinh Stadium.
Indonesia only needs to draw a goal at My Dinh Stadium to reach the final of the AFF Cup 2022, but Jordi said the whole team wants to win.
“Indonesia’s preparations are going well and we are all aiming for victory,” Jordi said.
The winners of the tie on Monday night will meet Thailand or Malaysia in a two legged final.
