Milwaukee Bucks power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has admitted that the criticism from Gilbert Arenas has given him only motivates him to work but does not cause him lose sleep.
“Does it bother me? I’m not going to lie, it makes me want to work harder. Do I go back home and think about it and I can’t sleep? Not necessarily.” Giannis said.
“But at the end of the day, hey, I don’t know, when I am 45 years old, 50 years old, I might be, you know, a little bit bitter, too.”
“I might be seeing, you know, this 20-year-old making, signing a three-year 900 million. Maybe, I don’t know, but I don’t think so.” Giannis added.
Arenas has been in the spotlight several times for his harsh criticism of Giannis Antetokounmpo and his game. The former point guard in last month admitted he was not a fan of the league’s two-time MVP.
At first he believes that one Giannis doesn’t understand the game of basketball despite all the award and titles.
“He doesn’t understand basketball yet. He plays the sport, he won a championship, cool. He doesn’t really understand how to be great, how to be better, how to train his body.” Arenas said.
Giannis counts on having a less ‘grudging’ retirement than other players because he believes he is more focused with what he has than what he might have had.
“Because I’m grateful for everything that God has blessed me with, for my kids, for my brothers, for my family, for my father, you know, for my son and the people I work with. I’m grateful for it. And I don’t think I’m going to be like that.” Giannis said.
Giannis is one of the NBA’s most dominant players, as well as one of the top overall players in the league.
