Erling Haaland on Saturday scored to help Manchester City beat home Wolves 3-0 in weekday 8 of the Premier League.
The English Premier League returns to the game at Molineux Stadium after a week off due to the departure of Queen Elizabeth II. Shortly after the Queen’s minute of quiet, the tension in the stadium was returned when Jack Grealish scored in the 55th second, following a right wing assist from Kevin De Bruyne.
But the focus in the first half was on Erling Haaland, when the 22-year-old striker maintained the habit of scoring and setting records.
Haaland dribbled the ball and shot from the right foot long range – not his dominant foot in the minute 16th got the ball from Bernardo Silva in the middle of the ground.
For the first time since August 2021, Haaland scored from outside the box. The Norwegian striker became the first player in Premier League history to score in all of his first four away games in the competition.
In the last 99 matches in all competitions since leaving Salzburg in January 2020, Haaland has scored 100 goals. His 11 goals this season in the Premier League are more than those of Manchester United, Chelsea or Newcastle.
In the 33rd minute, defender Nathan Collins kicked Grealish straight in a ham situation, causing Wolves to play without players.
Playing more than people, but City shockee when holding the ball more than 30% in the first minutes of the second half. Wolves rose at the beginning of the half but did not create many clear opportunities due to the difference in numbers and class.
Speaking at his press conference, City manager Pep Guardiola said they were “one of the toughest opponents,” but in the end it was a comfortable day for the Skyblues.
