There are different players of online poker who make the same mistake of assuming that they have right to act as they wish and to be hard as they are just sitting behind a screen. It is surely not the case and there are different considerations each player should know about before sitting at the poker table.
Don’t give advice to players
Never ever chat about the hand of some other poker player or give advice on hand of another player. Once you do this, you will start losing hints on what you have and other players would read on your actions. Don’t confuse it with table talk and influence decision.
Don’t criticize other players
It might not seem that problematic but no one likes being bullied. In case player makes bad move, don’t criticize them. The last thing a player needs is someone who knows it all and points out what he has done wrong. Even though you are angered with their actions, it’s not the right time to be offensive. It will not help you get money back. It will push them to play well. Online poker table must be friendly and fun. Don’t be rude to other players.
No profanities in online chat
It might be obvious but being abusive or berating other players is not going to be a good thing. It won’t just upset someone but they may also leave the table. You might also vex yourself or get into tilt to the point you start to lose each end.
Don’t give away hints of your hand
Suppose you are going to raise pre-flop with Ace 5 on button and another one re-raises you when other player calls and you choose to fold. If flop comes on Ace 5-5 which would give solid hold, don’t discuss about it in chat. A hand has been completed only once and you could talk about your hand on poker. It has ended doing this before the hand and it could influence the way one can play the hand out and can cause unfair game.
Slow rolling is not good
At some point or another, you feel that you have best hand possible and want to call the bet of your opponent, make it happen soon and you can make decision.
Don’t stall the game
You don’t have to take too long to act when it comes to pre-flop and basic actions. Take your time for vital post-flop decisions. Never take longer time than needed when making basic poker decisions.
