The NBA recognised two rising stars for their stellar performances in Week 16: Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks.

Both players bagged their respective conference Player of the Week awards, adding to their already impressive resumes.

Mitchell, a 5-time All-Star, led the Cavaliers to a perfect 4-0 record, solidifying their second-place position in the East.

He averaged a staggering 27.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.0 assists, shooting an impressive 54% from the field. Mitchell even added 2 steals and 17 three-pointers per game, showcasing his well-rounded offensive prowess.

The Cavaliers are currently on a 9-game winning streak, and Mitchell’s leadership plays a crucial role in their success. His offensive firepower and defensive contributions have been instrumental in their climb up the standings.

On the other side of the continent, Doncic orchestrated another dominant week for the Mavericks, leading them to a 4-0 record as well.

The Slovenian superstar averaged a whopping 31.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game. His shooting efficiency was also commendable, with a 51.3% field goal percentage and nearly 9 free throws attempted per game.

Doncic’s impact extends beyond his individual stats. His presence on the court elevates the entire team, and young players like Josh Green readily admit their admiration for his talent and leadership.

Doncic remains a strong contender for the MVP award, and his performances in Week 16 further solidify his candidacy.

While Mitchell and Doncic deservedly received the top honors, ten other players were also recognised for their standout performances.

The list included established All-Stars like Jayson Tatum and Kevin Durant, along with rising talents like Franz Wagner and Myles Turner. This highlights the depth of talent across the league and the exciting competition brewing in both conferences.

Week 16 saw Mitchell and Doncic emerge as dominant forces, leading their teams to impressive victories and solidifying their positions as top players in the league.

Their performances, along with the contributions of other talented players, promise an exciting and unpredictable season ahead.
