Chandler Fires Back After McGregor Fight Scrapped

Michael Chandler expressed disappointment at having the fight pulled “at the last possible moment” after putting in weeks of training.

In a shocking turn of events, the highly anticipated main event of UFC 303 has been thrown into disarray as McGregor has been forced to withdraw from the fight due to an injury.

The Irish fighter has been no stranger to injuries throughout his career, and this latest setback has left fans concerned about the impact on his trajectory in the UFC.

For Chandler, the sudden turn of events has left him in a state of limbo, as he now finds himself without an opponent for the main event.

“I got the rug pulled out from underneath me at the last possible moment,” Chandler said.

“I just had got done with my last sparring session, Thursday morning, had been hearing rumblings since Monday, obviously,”

“But really got the call about an hour after my last sparring session was completed. An hour after a celebration.” Chalender added.

Despite the recent injury to McGregor, Chandler still expresses his desire to fight him at UFC 303.

He remains confident that the fight is still happening and is actively training and preparing for the showdown against McGregor.

“You know where my mindset is, where my mental is. And it is nowhere near down in the dumps.”

“I am emboldened by this test, and this test ain’t done yet. And this test shall turn into part of my testimony.” Chalender said.

“So we keep moving forward in the face of adversity, with complete disregard to previous failures, previous setbacks, previous things outside of out control, and future opposition.” he added.

The UFC and its organisers are no doubt scrambling to find a suitable replacement to ensure that the event lives up to its billing as a must-see spectacle for fight fans worldwide.
