Manchester United scored twice in the first half en route to a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
The Red Devils opened the scoring through Marcus Rashford after a clever corner routine caught the visitors cold before Rashford created the second for Anthony Martial.
Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has praised manager Erik ten Hag for bringing “stability and discipline” to the club since his arrival in the summer.
“Erik ten Hag brings us stability. That is really important and something that was missing, and also big discipline. That was something that, for me, was massive on our team that we need, I think in every team, probably.” Fernandes said.
“But I think in our team we were missing a little bit of that, but now everyone understands that you do whatever you have to do or you are out,” Fernandes added.
Fernandes added that he believes he is in the form of his United career, despite not racking up the exceptional numbers that he posted during his first 18 months at the club.
“If we’re talking statistics, my first year was amazing, but probably now I’m not getting the goals or assists, but probably I’m playing much better, or more involved than I was before.” Fernandes said.
“It’s massively important for me that the team wins, because I think that that makes your week.” he added.
Ten Hag’s side moved into the Premier League top four after Rashford stepped off the bench to earn United a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
As Rashford left the pitch at the final whistle, he was embraced by his manager.
“Everyone has to follow standards and rules, there has to be consequences or you can’t be successful. This was the right answer,” Ten Hag said.
