The PGA Tour speculates about Brooks Koepka possibly coming back to their ranks while he continues to ponder his future with LIV Golf Singapore.
The golf legend Fred Couples reported speaking with Koepka who showed keen interest in returning to competitive PGA Tour golf this month.
Koepka signed with LIV Golf in 2022 but his future beyond his current commitment remains unclear due to his PGA Tour contract.
“Too much into detail about what’s going on. Like I’ve said before, I’m not in those rooms,” Koepka said.
“I’ve got a contract obligation out here to fulfill, and then we’ll see what happens. I don’t know where I’m going, so I don’t know how everybody else does.” Koepka added.
The negotiations between the PGA Tour and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund about uniting men’s professional golf leagues have extended past several months. Several roadblocks exist before LIV Golf can implement its team-oriented structure.
As captain of the Smash GC team, the 30-year old golfer owns the 22nd position among his 55 LIV Golf rivals.
The outside chatter does not divert his attention because he focuses primarily on being better in future events.
“Right now, I’m just focused on how do I play better, how do I play better in the majors, how does this team win, and then we’ll figure out next year and how to play better again.” Koepka said.
“It’s the same thing. It’s just a revolving cycle. I’ve got nothing. Everybody else seems to know more than I do.” he added.
PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan continues to make PGA Tour-LIV player reunification his top priority during ongoing Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia negotiations yet additional meetings with President Donald Trump or PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan are not currently planned.
