Luka Doncic Out with a Thigh Injury

The Dallas Mavericks Luka Doni was ruled out of Wednesday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a left thigh injury.

Doncic felt the problem more intensely during the first half of the game, but remained on the court. He was assessed at half-time and given care to make it back from the changing rooms.

However, nine minutes into the third quarter, he couldn’t take it anymore. The guard ended the night with 15 points and eight rebounds, while making just four of 14 shots from the court.

“Doesn’t look good. I’ve been feeling it since the second game after the All-Star Game, actually, so it’s complicated.” Doncic said.

“It’s different from other bruises because I usually feel the thigh after a blow. But this time, it was no contact. Processing this situation, therefore, is kind of weird for me. I really don’t know what that is.” Doncic added.

Doncic’s thigh injury was nothing new and therefore on the Mavericks’ radar. But the injury is shrouded in doubt.

The star cannot say how it happened. The injuries are as intense as they are unstable, as he said they vary from day to day. However, when it is intense, the discomfort is increasingly compromising.

“I think everyone can see that, first of all, Luka is not moving well. It affects your shooting, defense and everything else. He was trying to fight to play and help the team, but he had to leave today.” the Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said.

“We’re hoping it’s not serious. There are a few days of rest until the next game, so the expectation is that he will return as soon as possible.” he added.

Doncic will undergo tests on Thursday to assess the severity of the injury. For Kidd, all the team can do is hope for an encouraging result.
